A Boil Water Order has been issued for the Village of Fredonia
"All Fredonia water customers must boil water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and making coffee until further notice. Water must be brought to a rolling boil for one minute then cooled prior to use. Boiled or bottled water must be used to wash dishes by hand; dishes should be allowed to completely air dry after washing. Home dishwashers that reach a temperature of 170⁰F and have a full dry cycle do not need to be boiled. The water may be used for bathing as long as it is not consumed. The water is safe for laundry."
In terms of the impact of this news on our school district, here is some information to know:
For the time being, our water at school cannot be used for drinking.
For the time being, our drinking fountains will not be available.
We have water from a local bottled water supplier in place.

This past Friday, Cecelia Tonelli netted a hat trick and Mady Polhamus scored twice as Fredonia blanked Silver Creek/Forestville 6-0 in non-league girls soccer.
Tonelli scored twice from Polhamus and once from Callie Draggett to complete her hat trick in the first half.
After halftime, Polhamus scored from Tonelli twice and Aria Russo scored from Sophia Hunt. Naomi Muck made four saves in the clean sheet for the Hillbillies.
Then, on Monday, Fredonia battled to a 2-2 tie with a tough Allegheny-Limestone squad. Tonelli scored both goals while Muck played well in goal again. Draggett and Polhamus both had an assist.
Our team plays again tonight. Best of luck to our players and coaches.
Also selected was senior bass player, Grant Abbey. Grant was accepted to perform as a member of the All-State Symphony Orchestra.
Both students received a 100 on their NYSSMA level 6 solos at the NYSSMA Solo Festival held at Brocton CSD this past May.
Thousands of students across NYS auditioned, and to have two students accepted from a district our size is a testament to our student musicians and community support!
Mrs. Terreri will also be presenting at the conference alongside Dr. Richard Webb from SUNY Fredonia in a session for teachers across the state as well.
Fredonia’s boys took sixth in the Division 1 race. Trenton Krenzer led the way with a 42nd-place finish in 17:44. Nathan Keefe was 56th in 17:58, followed by Jimmy Fagan (59th, 18:00), Solomon McKnatt (66th, 18:10), Alex Cramer (79th, 18:38), Jack Fagan (94th, 19:05), and Garrett Lesch (163rd, 21:16). Keefe, McKnatt, Cramer, and Jack Fagan turned in personal-best times.
Fredonia’s girls placed 13th in Division 1. Izzie Czekanski was 18th in 20:56, followed by Meredith Lendt (23rd, 21:10), Nora Robinson (55th, 22:56), Rosemary Gugino (124th, 25:29), and Khloey Miller (143rd, 26:43). Robinson and Miller both turned in personal-best times.

Next week, September 15–19, we will join schools across the country in celebrating Start With Hello Week!

FHS is excited to announce that we will be offering the SAT Weekend Exam on the following dates:
September 13
October 5
November 2
December 7
March 8
June 7
The SAT is a college entrance exam that measures math, reading, and writing skills. Many colleges use SAT scores as part of the admissions process. Students must register online at collegeboard.com.
In addition, the PSAT School Day Exam will be given on October 21.
The PSAT is a practice version of the SAT and also serves as the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Students MUST sign up in Student Services by September 30.
The cost is $18, due at the time of sign-up.
