Last evening, our Board of Education granted tenure to Mary Ihrig, Derek Kuch, Lindsey Moon, and Scott Herdzik. Congratulations to this exceptional group of educators! We believe tenure is earned, not given, and these individuals have certainly worked hard to make an impression on our school community in the short time they have been with us. Please join us in congratulating Mary, Derek, Lindsey, and Scott!

Our UPK students recently took a deep dive into 14 different artists from around the world. They learned about their techniques, style and life. They then created a work of their own based on that artist's unique style. Some of the artists studied were Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, Frida Kahlo, George Seurat, Jackson Pollock, and Yayoi Kusama. Thanks to Mrs. Guiffreda for taking our students on a trip around the world through art!

Fredonia CSD is closed today in observance of Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

We are so proud of our Trap Club, who recently competed at the NYS Trap Tournament and had amazing results, especially for their first year as a club!
687 students from 86 schools competed as a school team and individually. Fredonia's home field of Hanover Fish and Game Club has tested our students due to the difficulty of their home field. Scores were based on the amount birds broke out of 100. Mason Tomaszewski was awarded top gun and 1st place varsity with 98, Aidan Kinney was awarded 2nd place JV with 93, Ethan Willebrandt broke 90, Wyatt Bartoo broke 87, and Aiden Czekanski scored 86 contributing to the team score. With a team score of 454.
Fredonia came in third place overall in their first ever state tournament. Rounding out individual scores were Nathan Balch 76, Daniel Cook 86, Asher McKnatt 84, and Connor Sullivan with 54. The team was led by coaches Jerry Kinney and Daniel Tomaszewski. Congratulations to all involved!

🌈 June is #PrideMonth! PRIDE means belonging, and everyone belongs at FCSD.
Members of our GSA Club (Gay Straight Alliance) planted perennials and annuals under the HS sign by the main entrance to welcome spring and make it feel special and cared for. They hope to make this an annual tradition.
The students from left to right are Cloe Zamora, Eli Brielo, Makalya Jimerson, Raylee Flanders.

These 5th graders volunteered to give speeches on "What Memorial Day Means to Me" as part of the Memorial Day ceremony at the Dunkirk Lighthouse & Veterans Park Museum.
