🌟 Merry Christmas to our #fredoniafamily! 🎄

A few actors were born this week in Chris Cybulski's room! These 2nd graders have been working hard on their production of "The Year Santa Got Mixed Up" and performed it for their families this week. The show had it all...humor, song, and even some prop comedy. Great job to all!

Judith Przybyla, School Counselor, presented to Maggie Snyder's PreK class this week about the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. They learned about traditional items such as the menorah, latkes and dreidels. Happy Hanukkah to all of our #fredoniafamily who celebrate!

Congrats to our students on another great issue of the Spectator! Check out the full issue here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set?vanity=FredoniaCentral&set=a.874442710624194

Mrs. Foley and Mrs. Smiths' UPK classes recently took their annual trip to Lakeshore Savings Bank to help decorate their lobby Christmas tree. The tree was hung with handmade ornaments and the kids had a blast giving back to their community during the holiday season.

FCSD is open and on time today. Drive safe and stay warm! ❄️

Happy Hanukkah to our #fredoniafamily! 🕯️🕎

Our elementary elves (and Mr. Drollinger) are working hard to spread good cheer these last few days of the year!

The District Office is proud to share our latest issue of the Fredonia Forum, a print newsletter published to take a deeper dive into some of the exciting things happening in our district. Households in the district will receive their copy in the mail sometime next week!
You can view the full newsletter here: https://www.fredonia.wnyric.org/page/district-newsletter
Fun fact: our newsletter is copy edited by students from Dr. Gerber's WRTG-354 class at Fredonia. This has been a great partnership to ensure our newsletter is the best it can be when we publish. Huge thank you goes out to our Print Shop as well for making this vision come to life!

Kudos to our fourth grade mentors who recently read holiday books to their friends in first grade. What a great way to spread holiday cheer and the love of reading! 📚

We're back with another weekly update from the District Office. This week, we are highlighting some holiday celebrations, congratulating our PTECH student of the month, sharing a great video on the Polar Plunge, and much more. Enjoy the rest of the week!

Attention parents and families planning to attend the elementary concert this Friday at 1:00 PM: we are excited to welcome you for our Winter Concert event! We are expecting high attendance, so please plan to park in the high school events parking lot near the auditorium. Please do not park in any bus loops, as these are fire lanes. Thank you, and enjoy the show.

This year's polar plunge to benefit @SpecOlympicsNY was a HUGE success! Our team, the Chilly Billies, smashed their fundraising goal and raised $6,965 for the cause! Check out what a fun (and frosty) time they had this past Friday! ❄️🌊
Thanks to student Ryan Davis for this video.

The second graders in Mrs. Price’s class enjoyed working with Mr. Haase and his high school seniors recently during their technology class. The students collaborated on building a catapult. They tested their design using a cookie and a marble. The final goal was to see if they could shoot both objects into a cup. This was achieved by working cooperatively to make changes to the placement of the catapult due to the weight of the object. It was an awesome learning experience for all students. The seniors learned the importance of being patient while mentoring, and the second graders learned a little physics and walked away with a “Big Buddy”.

Thanks to WDOE Radio for featuring our therapy dog Yost and owner Tim Wright on WDOE's "Viewpoint" program. They chat about Yost's adoption, the process he went through to become a therapy dog, and how he's helping students at Fredonia.

Recently Mrs. Johnston held a student volleyball tournament after completing their volleyball unit in PE. Seven teams competed and the winning student team competed against a staff team comprised of 6 HS staff members and one MS teacher. The students played exceptionally well and defeated the teachers in a close game, 25-19!
Thanks to our willing participant staff members: Steven Romans, Pat Newell, Amanda Krakowiak, Kerry Sweatman, Dan Bittinger, Shannon Marsh and Lisa Johnston.

Middle School students from Miss Hockwater's and Mrs. Greenough's English classes faced off in a "You Laugh, You Lose" Dad Joke Tournament last week as part of their Humor unit. What a fun way to bring a lesson to life!

We're back with another Weekly Update from the District Office. This week we thank Draejen Hicks for his guest spot in our video! We're covering some Thanksgiving activities, a fun, collaborative catapult project, and highlighting our school food pantry. Check it out!
