middle school student holds a piece of artwork of a colorful butterfly in rainbow colors and framed

Last spring students at both the Middle and High school level created butterfly artworks for the 6th Annual Charity Auction to support Hospice and Palliative Care of Chautauqua County. Butterflies are the theme chosen to represent hope and a transition in life. Out of hundreds of artworks created by students from a variety of local districts, we had many student artworks chosen.

Students and their parents were invited to attend the dinner and auction at the Chautauqua Inn and Suites in Mayville on Friday. Students were able to experience the auction atmosphere and learned a little about how this auction started and how it supports our community. Money raised by the donation of work is split between Hospice and donating districts. All other proceeds support the important work of Hospice in our community. Haley Blue's artwork was part of a bidding war, with a last second bid bringing the final price up to $130. Mrs. Noody, Mrs. Lavelle, and Ms. Sheldon are extremely proud of the students whose work was selected.
