The Tri-M Music Honor Society is partnering with one of Western New York's most valuable resources for families facing the financial and emotional burden of a pediatric cancer diagnosis. We are looking to our Fredonia community to consider donating and help raise money for this cause!
Many of you may have heard of P.U.N.T. through the strong partnership and involvement of Buffalo Bills player, Dawson Knox. You can read more about the at the PUNT website - click here.
We are asking our FCSD community to consider donating to P.U.N.T in one of two ways! ALL funds will be directly donated to PUNT in an effort to help support families in the Western New York Region.

Meet Rudy, another proud member of our growing therapy dog family! 🐶
Rudy was adopted by the Gugino family, and his humans attend our middle school. He is a two year old Labradoodle trained by Kaleigh Bell from Shaylah's Canine Commands in Forestville. Rudy comes from a long line of therapy dogs. His mother is a therapy dog at a middle school in Ohio!
Therapy dogs have been proven to benefit both students and adults on multiple levels, including being helpful in terms of mental health support and reducing anxiety.
When not working in the District, Rudy enjoys meeting new friends, swimming, watching squirrels, and TIMBITS! His most favorite thing to do is watch for his humans to come home on the school bus.
We can’t wait to welcome Rudy who will be joining our third and fourth grade classes for periodic visits. We communicated with our students and families before moving forward with this initiative. We appreciate everyone involved for their support as we continue with our ongoing efforts to create a welcoming and supportive environment within our schools.
Keep your eyes out for more fun features on our newest canine member of the #fredoniafamily!

We're back with another update from the District Office. This week we feature our history-making girls wrestling team, the Peaceful Bus project, well wishes to Damar Hamlin, and the introduction of our second therapy dog, Rudy. Woof woof! 🐾

A message from Dr. Zilliox:
Hello Fredonia Families,
Please see the message below that we shared with our students today. We ask that you reinforce and support this message for all of our athletic events, but especially in relation to rivalry games.
Thanks to all those who will be attending our basketball games this week vs. Dunkirk and Southwestern. We appreciate your support of our teams, but please keep the following in mind:
Cheer for our team, not against our opponent.
Keep the language clean with no swearing.
Be respectful of the officials.
Be respectful of their fans and parents.
Represent our school positively.
Do not engage in negative social media dialogue with opposing teams and fans.
Best of luck to all players and coaches. Go Billies!
Stay classy Fredonia!
Dr. Zilliox

Happy Three Kings Day to our #fredoniafamily!
For Hispanics, Three Kings’ Day is the culmination of the holiday season, the day when additional gifts are exchanged and big family celebrations take place. Children write letters in advance to the Three Kings, telling them how good they were during the year and asking for gifts. On the Night of Kings (January 5th), children place their shoes outside their bedrooms so that the Three Kings will leave presents in them.

The District Office is proud to share our latest issue of the Fredonia Forum, a print newsletter published to take a deeper dive into some of the exciting things happening in our district. Households in the district will receive their copy in the mail sometime next week!
You can view the full newsletter here: https://www.fredonia.wnyric.org/page/district-newsletter
Fun fact: our newsletter is copy edited by students from Dr. Gerber's WRTG-354 class at Fredonia. This has been a great partnership to ensure our newsletter is the best it can be when we publish. Huge thank you goes out to our Print Shop as well for making this vision come to life!

We're back with another weekly update from the District Office. This week, we are highlighting some holiday celebrations, congratulating our PTECH student of the month, sharing a great video on the Polar Plunge, and much more. Enjoy the rest of the week!
