As another incredible school year comes to a close, we're taking a moment to celebrate the memories made on our final day together.

Our graduating seniors shared one last special tradition with our younger learners during the Senior Clap-Out Car Parade, receiving cheers from our elementary and early childhood students as they drove through our main campus & Wheelock, and then it was off to graduation rehearsal!

At Wheelock Early Childhood Center, our youngest students made their final walk to the buses, closing out a year filled with learning, laughter, and growth.

And at Fredonia Middle School, students wowed their classmates and staff with an amazing Talent Show, showcasing the creativity, confidence, and spirit that make our schools so special.

From our first day in September to our last day in June, this year has been filled with achievements, friendships, and countless moments that remind us why we're proud to be Hillbillies.

Thank you to our students, families, faculty, staff, and community for making this such a memorable school year. Your support, dedication, and enthusiasm help make Fredonia Central School District an incredible place to learn and grow.

We wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer. We can't wait to welcome everyone back in the fall!

Fredonia Central School District is closed today in honor of Juneteenth. On this day in 1865, all enslaved people in the United States were finally freed when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, TX, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, to enforce the freeing of all remaining slaves.

Today is National Speech-Language Pathologist Day, and we recognize the incredible impact our Speech-Language Pathologists have on students across our district!

From helping students build confidence in communication to supporting speech, language, and social development, our SLPs play an essential role in student success every single day. Their patience, expertise, compassion, and dedication make a lasting difference in the lives of so many children and families.

Thank you to Erin, Michelle, Kayla, and Suzzane,, our amazing SLPs for the care, encouragement, and support you provide to our students. We appreciate all that you do!

Balancing Growing Needs With Fiscal Responsibility

The proposed 2026-27 budget reflects careful planning and responsible budgeting.

✔ Over $3 million in reductions through staffing attrition and expense review
✔ Shared services with BOCES and local municipalities
✔ Tax levy increase has always been below the allowable limit. 9 of the last 15 years have been below.

The goal remains the same:
Supporting students while managing taxpayer resources responsibly.

Where does the school budget go?
79.02% — Program Component
Supports teachers, student programs, athletics, transportation, counseling, music, clubs, and classroom instruction.

10.73% — Capital Component
Supports buildings, facilities, and maintenance.

10.25% — Administrative Component
Supports district operations and required services.

At Fredonia, the largest portion of the budget directly supports student learning and student experiences.
