Happy Three Kings Day to our #fredoniafamily! For Hispanics, Three Kings’ Day is the culmination of the holiday season, the day when additional gifts are exchanged and big family celebrations take place. Children write letters in advance to the Three Kings, telling them how good they were during the year and asking for gifts. On the Night of Kings (January 5th), children place their shoes outside their bedrooms so that the Three Kings will leave presents in them. Judith Przybyla, School Counselor, presented to Maggie Snyder's PreK class this week about the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. They learned about traditional items such as the menorah, latkes and dreidels. Happy Hanukkah to all of our #fredoniafamily who celebrate!

Judith Przybyla, School Counselor, presented to several Wheelock classes today about the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. We learned about traditional Hanukkah items such as the menorah, latkes and dreidels. Mrs. Przybyla brought in dreidels for the children to experience. The children loved spinning the dreidels and learning about this fun game.

Mrs. Foley and Mrs. Smith's UPK classes had a wonderful time walking to Lakeshore Savings Bank and assisting in decorating their holiday tree yesterday.

Dear Fredonia Families, Despite the challenging weather over the past few days, we continue to do our best to keep our schools open.  Part of the difficulty for tomorrow is the high number of faculty and staff we have commuting from the north and east, including those in travel bans.  In order to give those individuals plenty of time to get to work and be as safe as possible, Fredonia CSD will be operating on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Monday 11/21. We ask that our faculty and staff still leave early and take their time while traveling. Thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding as we work through winter weather related scenarios. All after school events and activities for tomorrow will continue as scheduled.

Hello Fredonia families, All events/activities for Saturday 11/19 will occur as scheduled. Stay safe and warm!

Dear Fredonia Families, Governor Hochul has declared a disaster emergency in Chautauqua and surrounding counties effective November 17.  Based on the Governor’s declaration, consultation with County authorities, and the weather forecast, we are closing school for Friday, November 18.  All after school activities for Friday are also canceled.  However, after school activities will continue for tonight, Thursday November 17. The Friday performance of the Middle School musical "Matilda JR" is postponed to Monday, November 21 at 7:00 PM. As of now, the Saturday performances at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM will still be performed as scheduled. All ticket holders for Friday night's performance will have their tickets transferred to Monday. If any ticket holders have questions, they should e-mail Mr. Wendell at bwendell@fcsd.wnyric.org. At this time, all other activities scheduled for Saturday will continue as planned.  If this should change, we will make an announcement as soon as possible. Brad Zilliox Superintendent
