We wish everyone a happy, healthy celebration!

Dear Fredonia Families,
Despite the challenging weather over the past few days, we continue to do our best to keep our schools open. Part of the difficulty for tomorrow is the high number of faculty and staff we have commuting from the north and east, including those in travel bans. In order to give those individuals plenty of time to get to work and be as safe as possible, Fredonia CSD will be operating on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Monday 11/21. We ask that our faculty and staff still leave early and take their time while traveling. Thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding as we work through winter weather related scenarios.
All after school events and activities for tomorrow will continue as scheduled.

Hello Fredonia families,
All events/activities for Saturday 11/19 will occur as scheduled. Stay safe and warm!

Good morning Fredonia families. We are open and on time today. Please give yourself a little extra time and drive safe. We continue to monitor conditions for our after school activities as well as the coming days.

Dear Fredonia Families,
Governor Hochul has declared a disaster emergency in Chautauqua and surrounding counties effective November 17. Based on the Governor’s declaration, consultation with County authorities, and the weather forecast, we are closing school for Friday, November 18. All after school activities for Friday are also canceled.
However, after school activities will continue for tonight, Thursday November 17.
The Friday performance of the Middle School musical "Matilda JR" is postponed to Monday, November 21 at 7:00 PM. As of now, the Saturday performances at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM will still be performed as scheduled. All ticket holders for Friday night's performance will have their tickets transferred to Monday. If any ticket holders have questions, they should e-mail Mr. Wendell at bwendell@fcsd.wnyric.org.
At this time, all other activities scheduled for Saturday will continue as planned. If this should change, we will make an announcement as soon as possible.
Brad Zilliox
Superintendent

On Thursday, Nov. 3rd at Cheektowaga High School, Special Olympics NY hosted the first ever culminating event for Unified Bocce as an extramural. Four schools took each other on in divisional competition: Cheektowaga, Dunkirk, Fredonia, and Iroquois. Over 60 athletes and partners competed! There were well over 150 people in attendance throughout the event. It was the perfect day for an outdoor tournament, and everyone had an incredible time. Thank you to Special Olympics NY for organizing this event!

Congrats to student artists Grayson Osborne-Coy, Stephen Keefe, and Kathryn Czekanski for being selected to be in the NYSATA NYSSBA Exhibition online. To view their work, click here: https://nysata.memberclicks.net/nyssba Their work is on slides 139-141.

Recently, 28 of our seniors took a trip to the University of Buffalo. They had an information session with admissions and took a tour of the campus. It was a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about their options for higher education.

FCSD is closed today in observance of Veterans Day. We thank all those who have served our country.

This year our High School continued with the annual Great Start Event! Around 65 students were nominated by their teachers based on their great start to the school year and their Preparedness (the P in our PRIDE acronym). Students were treated to donuts, cider and candy!

Don't forget, tomorrow is our annual Veterans Day parade starting at 1:30. We've also declared tomorrow RED, WHITE, AND BLUE DAY, so wear your patriotic colors!

FHS/FMS Morning Dropoffs: To maintain safety, MS & HS students should only be dropped off in the morning at the MS entrance using the bus loop. Please DO NOT drop off students in any HS parking lot, the events entrance, the MS parking lot, or handicapped parking spaces.

We love celebrating birthdays! Our Unified team members get together once a month to celebrate their friends. Everything is better with cake!

Our Unified players have had a blast playing bocce ball while they wait for the official Bowling season to begin! Thanks to our coaches, coordinators, and opponents for helping us learn about a fun new sport!

Thirteen MS and HS student musicians were selected for NYSSMA Area All-State Ensembles this Fall. Groups draw their members from the best student musicians in Chautauqua, Erie, Cattaragus, and Niagara Counties. Abigail Roth was also selected for All State. Congrats!
