Fredonia's new Gardening Club had a special guest at their meeting on Monday, November 18th. Thank you to former Fredonia student and well-known local organic farmer, Wendell Maggitti, for generously sharing his time, knowledge, and building materials so our students could construct their own low tunnel system.
Our students have amended the soil in this old bed and are learning to grow their own food right through the winter! Students planted lettuce, kale, and green onion plants that were generated by Wendell Maggitti.
Reach out to Mr. Darrell-Sterbak or Mrs. Joint if you would like to get involved. We are hoping to expand the club, improve the soil, and watch kids grow. Stay tuned!
