Fredonia Music Department Instructional Leader Mr. Andrew Bennett has been selected as a 2025 Grammy Music Educator Award Quarterfinalist. This is his fourth time progressing to the Quarterfinalist stage.

Out of thousands of nominations from around the country 215 teachers were selected as quarterfinalists. The award recognizes educators who have made lasting contributions to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of growing and maintaining strong music education programs in our nation’s schools. 

“It is an honor to once again be listed among this prestigious group of Music Educators again,” Bennett said. “We have a vibrant music program here at Fredonia, and I look forward to using the next steps of this process to highlight the achievements of our student musicians and community.”

For the next stage in this process Mr. Bennett will be submitting teaching samples, student and community testimonials, and essays on his pedagogical philosophies. 

The list of quarterfinalists will be narrowed down to twenty five semifinalists in the Fall. From those semifinalists, ten finalists will be chosen, and then one nominee will be declared the 2025 Grammy Music Educator of the Year at the 67th Grammy Awards.
