Fredonia Central School District is closed today in honor of Juneteenth. On this day in 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, all enslaved people in the United States were finally freed when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, TX, to enforce the freeing of all remaining slaves.

Our Students & School Budget In Action
We’re shining the spotlight on Athletics!
Athletic opportunities in schools build more than just skills. Through sports, students gain confidence, resilience, and pride in themselves and their school. Our many successful sports teams show what happens when dedication meets opportunity.
Athletic programs help our students become their greatest selves — on and off the field.

Thank you to all who came out to the polls to exercise their right to vote. Thank you to the Board of Elections and the volunteers who made the budget revote run smoothly!

The polls are open! The School Budget Vote & Election is happening from 2-9 PM.
Let your voice be heard.

We’re shining the spotlight on extracurriculars!
There is so much more to learning than sitting at a desk! Students learn in a myriad of ways. For many, their favorite lessons are hands-on and interactive, which is why we do our best to offer a multitude of extracurricular activities to complement classroom learning.
New this year is the Fredonia Food and Garden Club. This club involves high school students interested in gardening and the environment in everything from transplanting houseplants to maple sugaring to self-sustainability. Club members have constructed their own low tunnel system, allowing them to grow food right through the winter! They also held a very popular Plant Swap & Giveaway day that’s sure to become an annual event.
Girls on the Run Heart and Sole is a program for girls in Grades 5-8 that combines girl empowerment lessons and preparation for a 5K. Participants meet twice a week for 90 minutes to engage in lessons and activities related to such concepts as making SMART goals, stress management tips, embracing our agency, and how to ask and receive help. Girls also complete workouts at each practice. At the end of the 20-lesson program, girls participate in a 5K run in Buffalo.
