Fredonia Elementary students in grades 3-5 were recently issued Everyday Math Online Games login cards for home computer online access. These cards give students and their parents the necessary information for accessing the Everyday Math Online Games at home: 1.) a login name, and 2.) a specific password. To access the online games, go to http://www.everydaymathonline.com, click on the “Student Login” button, and login to your student account using the information printed on your student login card.
Access to the Everyday Math Online Games provides students with fun opportunities for practicing essential math skills. This system also tracks the games played by each student and provides a report to classroom teachers about the games played and the student skill-improvement achieved over time. In fact, your teachers may even prescribe a particular game for students to play on a regular basis at home and then monitor student progress using the student reports. This information will help teachers make the best instructional choices for helping students improve math skills.
An important note: While we certainly encourage parents to observe their children playing the online games, it is important that parents or another persons refrain from playing a game within a particular student’s account. Restricting online game use to students only will ensure that each student report provides the teacher an accurate measure of only that particular student’s academic progress.
