Laurie Tramuta: Laurie Tramuta, mezzo soprano, is a 1982 alumna of the New York State University College at Fredonia School of Music. She has performed a variety of operatic roles with the Erie Opera Theater, Fredonia Hillman Opera, Opera Sacra and the Greater Buffalo Opera. Mrs. Tramuta has also appeared as soloist with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in the Stained Glass Concert Series, the Fredonia Chamber Players, the Erie Chamber Players, the Buffalo Choral Arts Society and the Orchard Park Chorale. Mrs. Tramuta holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She currently teaches elementary vocal music in the Fredonia Central School District and is an adjunct faculty member of the New York State University College at Fredonia School of Music in the areas of music education and voice. John Straight: John Straight is a 1967 graduate of Fredonia High School. He earned an undergraduate degree from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio in 1971 and completed his graduate studies at the New York State University College at Fredonia. He has been employed in the Fredonia Central School District since 1973 and currently teaches Elementary and Middle School General Music. Instrumental-StringColleen Vanderzyden: Colleen Vanderzyden received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from the New York State University College at Fredonia and her Master of Music in Music Education with an emphasis on Suzuki Pedagogy from Ithaca College. She has been the librarian for the Erie Philharmonic, Fredonia Chamber Players, and the Lake Erie Ballet Orchestra. She is a contracted violinist with the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra and has also performed with the Erie Chamber Orchestra. | Instrumental-BandKevin Way: Kevin Way is a native of Johnstown, NY where he began his musical life in fifth grade by studying percussion. He attended Schenectady County Community College and then the New York State University College at Fredonia where he received the Bachelors Degree in Music Education. His experiences as a performer have brought him to Holland, Germany, and Canada as well as throughout the Northeastern United States. Since graduating from college Mr. Way has held positions as an Organist/Choir Director, Musical Director, Field Band Instructor, and as a General and Instrumental Music Teacher in Lake Pleasant, NY. In 1996 he joined the music faculty in the Fredonia Central School District as the Elementary Instrumental Music Teacher and conductor of the Elementary and Junior Bands. He is currently the principal timpanist for the Western New York Chamber Orchestra. | Michael Mallory: Michael Mallory earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and was awarded a Performer's Certificate from the Crane School of Music at the New York State University College at Potsdam. In 1991 he earned a Master of Music degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and was a winner of the UNCG 1991 Annual Concerto Competition. Mr. Mallory has performed with the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra, recorded with the USAir Jazz Orchestra and performed in Carnegie Hall. He also continues to play regularly with a variety of area ensembles, jazz bands, and theater groups. Originally employed by the Fredonia Central School District in 1991 as a fifth and sixth grade instrumental music teacher, Mr. Mallory currently teaches middle school instrumental music. He also directs both the Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble. Donald Keddie: Donald Keddie decided in seventh grade that he wanted to become a music teacher. A student of Ron Sutherland for eight years, he graduated from Silver Creek High School. He went on to earn his bachelor of music degree magna cum laude, as well as his M.M. degree form the State University College at Fredonia. His principle teachers there were Herbert Harp and William Dederer. Mr. Keddie's entire teaching career has been at Fredonia Central Schools. He has taught instrumental lessons grades five through twelve, elementary and middle school bands, high school music theory, and general music grades one and two. He has also taught computer science grades three through twelve. He has conducted the high school musicals since 1985 and began his current position as director of the high school bands in 1996.
