The interscholastic athletic program in the Fredonia Central School District is an integral part of the total education process. Participation in the athletic programs results in: the growing of athletic skills, understanding the concepts of work, sacrifice and achievement, cooperating with others to achieve a goal, reacting with grace under pressure, and understanding the importance of the relationship between athletics and the school, home and community.
The interscholastic athletic program is available to the student after the regular school day. As a participant, the student assumes responsibilities in addition to those required for academic growth. These include balancing athletic participation with academic achievement, promoting good sportsmanship through personal example and complying with the rules and regulations established by the coaches, administration, and Board of Education. All students willing to accept these additional responsibilities are encouraged to participate in interscholastic athletic programs.
In addition to developing athletic skills, participants are expected to demonstrate appropriate appearance, manners, citizenship, and sportsmanship at all times in the school and community and at all contests.
Fredonia Central School is using ArbiterLive to schedule its athletic contests. The public can access all team's schedules by selecting the Team Schedules link under the Athletics tab on the district home page, or by going to http://www.arbiterlive.com/Teams?entityId=7999.
If you click on a specific team's schedule, then click "Follow Team" on the right-hand side, you can add your email address and be notified if there are any changes for that game.
If you have any questions, please contact Greg Lauer, Athletic Director, at 679-1581 ext. 1641 or by emailing him at email@example.com.
The Parental Consent and Waiver Form is for the parents of any student athlete who wishes to participate in Fredonia Athletics. Signing the consent waiver form by a parent or guardian states that they understand the risks involved in participating in athletics.
The consent waiver form is to be completed by parents of any athlete who wishes to participate in a modified, JV or Varsity sport during the school year if they were not able to attend the athletic parent information night in June. If a parent goes to the athletic parent night in June and signs in they do not have to fill out a consent form. The forms should be turned into the HS office or to the coach before the student athlete begins practice. Only one form each school year is required.
