Your Task
Here ye, here ye. You have been hereby duly selected by his
nobleness, Colonel Corell, to complete a quest of great importance
You will henceforth do
the following:
- Research a designated colony in the
Americas. I may want to take a
vacation there some day. Find
out who settled in your colony, who are the important people in its
history, and what is their colony’s economy based upon.
- You must fill out an area map, labeling
the colonies and one major city found in each.
- Write a formal report about your
designated colony, explaining its movement, region, location,
interaction, and place. It
should be at least one page long, and should be addressed to me.
- Organize a visual presentation, with
members of your small group.
This may be something done on poster board. It will include the aspects of your
research topics. Do not use too
much glitter glue; it gets my bile up, and then I must be leeched.
The Process
The first resources
you may use are the links on the left hand side of this webpage. Click on your colony’s link to find
information. Do not blindly serf the
internet. You will remain on this
page, or on one of its links unless otherwise told.
The second resource
you may use is your textbook. Much of
the information you need is found there.
You will use a word
processor and the program Inspiration to write and organize your Mr. Lip
paper.
Grading
- Your Mr. Lip paper is an individual grade
that is worth 60 points. Look at
rubric.
- Your visual presentation is a small group
project that is worth 20 points
- Your map is a large group project that is
worth 20 points.
