Test Analysis

After completing a test in your class, check to see if you need to improve your effectiveness when studying.

  • Using both the test and your textbook, correct any incorrect answers.

  • Circle the number of the questions on your test paper that ask about vocabulary from the chapter. How many are there?

  • Read the chapter summary if one is present. Mark the numbers of the questions that can be answered with information found in the summary. How many did you find?

  • Read the headings and subheadings in the chapter. How many questions can be answered using these?

  • Read the first paragraph after each subheading of the chapter. How many questions can be answered with this information?

  • Look at the graphics in the chapter. Do any questions on the test come from these?

  • Are there any special features in the chapter where test questions were used?

  • Determine where the answers may be found for any questions not already located: from class notes or movies or just the text only.

  • How should you study for the next test?
