- After graduating high school in 1988, I went straight into the U.S.
Army. After Basic Training my first duty station was Ft. Lewis, Washington
where I met my wonderful wife. We have been married for 14 years and have a
13 year old son and a 9 month old daughter. Since joining the Army I have
traveled to Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Texas, Arkansas, California, North
Carolina, Maine, England and Germany. I also spent six months in Hungry,
Croatia and Bosnia at which time I left the U.S. Army in 1996. I'm currently
living in Kaiserslautern, Germany working for the Department of Defense. I
work as a Logistician ensuring our troops that are in areas of conflict and
throughout Europe have the equipment they need. My family and I have lived
in Germany for 10 years making it back to the States for family reunions
every couple of years. We hope that within the next few years we will be
able to move back to the States permanently. If any of you are ever in
Germany and need a place to stay I have plenty of room in my house. My email
address is robandamber@hotmail.com.
- Melinda McElheny-Hey, how come none of us slackers have gotten our little
bios on here yet?? I was getting really nostalgic and would love hear
how you guys are doing. I graduated from Cornell University with a BS in
Design and Environmental Analysis in May '02 and am still pursuing my love
of Human Factors and Ergonomics. I worked for the Navy a couple of summers
ago on their F/A-18 fighter planes out near Death Valley in California, it
was wild. Then I worked for a computer science professor up in Saskatchewan,
Canada, total opposite climate. Now I'm in a MS Human Factors Engineering
program at Virginia Tech. I'm loving the rolling green hills and small
town--it reminds me a little of Fredonia (but better weather and slightly
different accent). Drop me an email if you get the chance at mcelheny@vt.edu,
hope you're all doing well!

- Chao, Cindy - Hi everyone! After graduating from UB in
'96, I've moved out to the BayArea / Silicon Valley to escape the freezing
winters of Western NY. I'mcurrently working for a consulting firm as a

received my B.S in Elementary Education from Fredonia State. I then taught

and will be teaching 2nd grade in Bethesda. I found a really great guy here
and he has made me extremely happy. We plan to make our home here, so if you
are ever traveling through the area drop us a line. Hope that everyone is

- Johncox, Jodi - Hello everyone! All thanks to the 3-1-3
program, I was thrown out into the cold, cruel, world a year early (whose
great idea was that?). I went to Pittsburgh for lack of a better thing to do
and really lucked out! I landed a job with ALCOA (one of the largest
Aluminum companies in the world). I was able to move around within the
company and get some great experience in the Accounting field. Lucky thing
since that was what I went to school for. Dad just wouldn't have understood
if I had gotten a job outside my field. Does that sound familiar to anyone
else? Well, I Ianded in Pittsburgh in November of 1996, and in July of 1999
I decided to add some extra stress and strain to my life by leaving a
perfectly good job and moving to Rockville MD (just outside DC). I am now
working at Qwest in Arlington VA. So far, so good. I am still with Mike
Salgado, can you believe that it has been 8 years this fall? We have just
about beaten the national average for marriages. I hope that you are all
doing well. Drop me a line. Jodi_Johncox@hotmail.com

- Fuentes, Will - "It's good to see that all are doing well. For
those of you who would like to know more about me, here is a brief update. I
attended the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, IN) from 1992 - 1996 and
graduated with a B.S. in Finance in May of 1996. During those years, my
loyalty still remained with the Buffalo Bills, but I must admit that I am
now a die-hard Notre Dame Football fan. In four years, I don't believe that
I missed one home game. Although Flutie-mania gripped me to my chair this
Fall. After graduation, I worked for 2 years as a Financial Accounting
Analyst for a regional commercial bank in the Northern Indiana area. The
winters were as harsh as any in Western New York and I knew that after 23
years of cold weather I had had enough. Therefore, in June of 1998 I moved
out the San Francisco Bay area with my girlfriend of four years, Meg. And
much to my mom's dismay. 'No' we are not married yet and 'No' we don't have
any children. Although, I will be sure to keep you all appraised if any of
that changes. Currently, I am working as a Management Analyst for the City
Manager's Office of the City of Union City, CA. A small town of 62,000 in
the East Bay of San Francisco, Union City takes up a good deal of my time
and energies, but I am really enjoying the work. For those of you who would
like to see one of my projects, check out our website at www.ci.union-city.ca.us.
It is one of my many pet projects here at the city. For those who would like
to contact me, my e-mail address is WFuentes@ci.union-city.ca.us.
Hope to hear from you all. Take care."

- Powell, JoAnne - I graduated from FHS in 1992. Since then I have
done quit a bit. In August of that year I went to Brasil with Rotary Youth
Exchange and spent a year exploring the beauty of South America’s largest
and only non-Spanish speaking country. After that I came home and started
college, I went to Cazenovia College which is 45 minutes east of Syracuse. I
graduated in May of last year and moved with Carrie Connelly and Jennifer
Smith to Raleigh, NC. Jen is going to move back to NY and attend UB Law
School in Aug. Carrie is working for Bayer as a lab tech. I'm working for
the NC School Board Assoc. and trying to get into grad school at NC State as
a resident, I hope to earn my Ph.D. there in Educational Research and Policy
Analysis. I am also a soon to be published name when a book I co-authored is
published sometime in the near future. The book is an annotated bibliography
on the life and times of President Richard Nixon, it’s not going to be a
big publication however it will be in almost every college library when it
is published. The research I did on it is to help those who are writing
about Nixon to not have to read though every article written but just those
that pertain to what they are writing. To all those who I knew at school

around to a few different schools before settling down at Slippery Rock
University in PA where I majored in Sport Management. I finished up school
with an internship in Lakeland, FL at The Lakeland Center. Its a
multi-purpose facility with an arena, theater, banquet and meeting rooms,
and an exhibit hall. After the internship and graduation, the management at
The Lakeland Center saw some talent and I was hired on full time as the
Marketing Assistant and Group Services Coordinator. After doing that for a
year, I changed positions to a Client Services Coordinator. I now handle the
booking, contracting, coordination, and billing for a large portion of the
over 900 events that we hold each year. Its a great job and everyday is
different but it sure does take up a lot of time. If you want to check it
out, go to www.thelakelandcenter.com. But enough about my job. I have yet to
find the love of my life and wish I had more time to look. And if anyone is
wondering, I am still known for my humor and smile-inducing laugh. I'm a

After graduating from FHS in 91, I attended SUNY Fredonia briefly and then transfered to Northeastern University in Boston, MA. I graduated from NU with a B.S. in Music Industry and worked in the recording industry for a while. I moved back to Fredonia in '95 to help with my grandmother who had become ill and I also worked at Record Giant. In 1996 I got a job as a technical computer support phone rep at Softbank Services Group (now known as Client Logic) in Buffalo and then onto Ingram Micro in '97 where I worked as an in-house tech. After a year as a Systems Administrator for Amherst Systems I wound up working for UB also as a Systems Administrator where I'm currently employed. Subsequently I earned a Master of Forensic Sciences in 2003 from National University and I'm currently working on a PhD in philosophy at UB, mostly because I can.
I've also been an active volunteer firefighter, fire investigator and fire instructor for the past 10 years or so. Another important past-time is my involvement with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a living history group.
I own my own home in Lancaster where I live with my cat Windsor.
I'm always looking to hear about folks from FHS, so feel free to drop me a note: investigatorchic@hotmail.com sometime!
